I am just back from 2 weeks in Southern France. I had only had a little time in the area years ago and wasn't sure what to expect. After I booked the flights I spent months doing research on what we wanted to see in this large area of France, we had a difficult time narrowing down what was top on our lists ~ EVERYTHING! Unfortunately time and money did not allow for that so we had some work to do.
This is the Itinerary that we eventually agreed upon and we had a great time seeing at least one main point of interest at each stop and taking time to just relax and enjoy the moment.

We flew into Nice and picked up our rental car. Checking GSP for the quickest route to Annecy, France, was to head east and go through Italy. This was a long day considering that we spent a sleepless night on the flight from the U.S. but the drive was spectacular! We followed the Mediterranean coast for a hour or so then headed north into the Italian Alps! We arrived in Annecy late afternoon and it was a wonderful sight to see.
