Alaska is a state that no one should miss. Many people only think of a cruise when they hear about travel to Alaska. I have done a cruise trip and a land only tour of this amazing state. I prefer a land tour because you get more time to hike, explore and meet the locals . With all of us becomeing more careful about exposure on ships, a land tour may be a safer option. Another advantage of doing a land tour is that they often less expensive than traveling on a mega cruise ship.
You might like begin your vacation in Anchorage. I love this cute town with a hip vibe with mirco breweies and inventive restaurant menus to try. There’s fun shopping and a nice museum to visit and learn some Alaska history before heading out to the bush country.
You can then travel by rail, bus or rent a car and head out to explore. Mt. McKinley is the highest mountain peak in North America and can be viewed from many locations. Mt. KcKinley is located in Denali National Park. You can check in with the park tour office and check out many different tours of Denali National Park. You will find guides, wilderness bus tours, ATV and bikes. You could even tour an kennel of an Iditarod Musher and hire a flightseeing tour of Mt. McKinley.
There are many hotels in the area from rustic to luxury accomadations, I can help you choose the one to fit your preference.
If anyone in your family enjoys fishing they should not miss the opportunity to try their luck with salmon fishing. The Alaska peak season for salmon runs from May through September, with five salmon species spread throughout the season. Nothing is better than your fresh caught salmon roasted over the fire on the river bank.
There is something for everyone in our great state of Alaska!
